For the Workers campaign launches union membership to infinity and beyond

Joining your union is the best decision you can make in your working life. Union members have higher wages, more secure jobs and safer workplaces. 

Together, working people in unions have won fundamental rights that benefit generations of Australians.

Work basics that are now taken for granted – superannuation, weekends, paid parental leave, Medicare, the minimum wage – were all won through the efforts of workers just like you joining together to make their workplace better.

This year union members have made Australia a fairer place by:  

• Delivering to Canberra one of our largest petitions to date; more than 150 000 people signed the petition for free and accessible Rapid Antigen Tests for all

• Getting the $450 superannuation threshold removed

• Preventing COVID positive workers being forced back to work at a South Australian abattoir. 

This week we re-launched our major campaign to encourage millions of workers to join their union. You might see it on your screen during your favourite show, online, or on your commute; it’s called For the Workers – watch the TV ad below.
