An Instagram-worthy home equals happiness, says new survey
Three out of four Australians believe a stylish home is the key to personal fulfilment. Do you aim to make your home Instagram worthy? Dream of having a lounge room that would sit proudly on Pinterest home decor? If you answered “yes” to these questions, you could be among the 76% of Australians who say the style of their home is important to their happiness and individuality, according to ME’s House Proud Survey completed by a nationally representative sample of 1,000 Australians in February 2018. By contrast, only 46% of people see their personal dress style as a source of happiness. Renters are house proud too, though one in two quite sensibly skip home styling, preferring to put the money towards buying a home of their own. |

Change the Rules – days of actionThousands of Australians are expected to hit the streets during May in a significant escalation to the Change the Rules campaign demanding more secure work and fair pay. The events will occur in major cities and regional communities across Australia. People will march, rally and gather in Melbourne, Wollongong, Adelaide, Cairns, Toowoomba, Sydney, Fremantle, Southport, Sunshine Coast, Maryborough, Brisbane, Townsville, Rockhampton, Mackay, Darwin and Thursday Island with more events being planned in regional centres across the country. |

ACTU leader visits Far North as polls show mood for changeACTU Secretary Sally McManus visited Cairns yesterday to launch the Change the Rules campaign in the region. Ms McManus also addressed a group of local activists on Wednesday evening at a campaign event, after taking part in the CFMMEU Indigenous conference earlier in the day. Ms McManus’s visit comes as issues polling conducted by Reachtel and the ACTU shows broad support for changes that will deliver more secure jobs and fair pay rises for working Australians. |
