People are always talking about mining, miners and their communities – but it occurred to us that hardly anyone is speaking with them.
That’s what we’re doing on today’s episode.
Meet Rob Foot. Rob is a recently retired worker who has spent decades earning a living in Central Queensland’s mines. He talks about life in a mining town, the impact of labour hire firms that have casualised the workforce, and the challenges mining communities face.
If you’ve ever had an opinion on what should happen with Australia’s mining industries and the people who work in them, this is an important voice you need to hear.
